【Day 11】leave Taipei+Jinguashi+shifen

We left Taipei for Shifen today!!

It took us 2 hours from NTU to to Jingushi. I sleep on the way there. I always feel excited about everthing in Taiwan and busy with talking with people in this program so once I get chance to take a nap, I fall a sleep.

When I waked up, we have been away from Taipei and I didn't know where we were. I felt that I am so lost in Taiwan cuz wherever we go, we always get a reliable tour guide, like Jack, or Hulda during the free time. I kinda of like this feeling because u would never get worried because of get lost or cannot to find a nice restaurant. 

We experienced '淘金' in the Golden Ecological Museum. Frankly speaking, it is fun and silly. I had thought that they would let us to find golden in the golden mine, but it turned out that we just find "golden sand" in a bowl of soil. It was stupid, right? Everone was happy though. We all got a small glass bottle with a little bit shiny stuff in the end, which was golden according to the staff there.

After that we went to Jiufen, which is a place has many stop stores with local food or local art craft? we spent 4 hours there and we had 阿柑姨芋圆 and different kinds of fish balls. They were great!!

This is the photo of Shifen! They place we lived that day. That's a romantic place! I felt that I was in the movie when we were there! And I was pretty sure that <那些年> was shoot here. The scene that Kejingteng wants to express his love to Shenjiayi. Anyway, it is a good place for couple or for shooting movies.

We had a sky latern(Kong Ming Ltern) and wrote a lot of wishes on it!! 

I like Jiufen!! I think I will come back one day!!

【Day 8+9+10】

Tomorrow we will leave Tapei and for the next two weeks! Cherish the time staying with everybody!!! So I think I'd better finish my journal for these days.

Last Sunday is our only free day and a group of us went to Fulong Beach and Cat Cities. That was a long and impressived day!!
We went to swim on in Fulong Beach. It was a beatiful beach with great water plying area. We were so lucky that it was the last day for sand castle exibition.

Cats are my favourite animal!! Before coming to Taiwan, I heard about cat city and really want to go to take a look of the cats!! And here I am!!!

ALthought there were more people than cats~,it still made my day because of these cute cats!!!!

I forget to mention how crowded the train was. there was no seats and bearly place to stand. we were so tired on the way back and could only sit on the floor of the train and selfie!!!!!

Yesterday, we went to a geological park. It was so hot and the sun almost burned me. I was hurnt on my shoulders by sun burnt the day before yesterday. therefore, the great sunlight almost kill me we exposed my shoulders again under the sun!!!!

However, the rocks were amazing! They have different shapes because of weathering and sea water erosion. 

Today, the greatest part is the blue dye!!! It's my first time to do it and it was soooomuch fun!!! how wonderful that the dyes we used are purely natural. It is extracted from a plant which chinese name is 板蓝根. it is a medicical plant!!!

The buddsim temple we visited is just so-so. I prefer to see a traditional temple instead of a modern one. And the meal we had in the temple today is sooo....well, I don't want to eat it again. I can not imagine how the monks eat such kind of meals for everdya. eventhoug it is all vegetable, they can still cook it in a more delicious way, right?

【Day 7】Museum of Aborigines + National palace museum + Shilin Night Market

Great day. I wish I could live in Taiwan foever, beside a night market....Haha.

The aborginal museum was great. I think I learned a lot from the tour guide from the museum. Her English is quite good and clear. I like her sweet voice and interesting story.

There are officially 14 ethnic groups in Taiwan. They have inhabited Taiwan for over 4000 years befor the Han people came. Their culture are all amazing. The Amis, which is a ethnic group that females have the highest rank in family according to the tour guide. All the photos we saw in the museum showed that women at home usually sit leisurely in the middle of the room and the males always sit beside or are out for work. There is even a special festival fot females to pick up their husbands~~ What a great tribe!! Women are have more power than males have!!!

The afternoon we went to the National Palace Museum~~ All the stuff in exibition are precious!!
They all came from mainland China we  Jieshi Jiang failed the war between the two parties. So the frbidden citen in Beijing is empty because all the treasures are here in Taiwan!!! Well, I hope these stuff can go back to where they are from. They belong to China and its great history. ...and happy to see all these things are well preseved.

The night market was fanstastic!!!! I wan to live in Taiwan and go shopping in the Night market everyday!!!!Hahaha~~ good night!!

【Day 6】late for class+ abscent teacher+ ceramics museum+ huge crepes+ calligraphy

Today was amazing.

I was late for the morning class. Although I was not the only peoson to be late for class, it was still embrassing.

The first lecture was about our experimental design. The professor introduced method like how you match your testable prediction with hypothesis. It's all about logical things which I felt soooooo hard to understand. It's interesting,though.

For the second lecture, we went to the agricultural exipition house on camous instead, cuz the prefessor was not able to made it. Jack said two students of that preffessot died in a car accident she has deal with it. That's sooosad.Appreciate the time and people beside when you are alive.

The trip to the ceramics museum was great!!! I like doing DIY things!!! We made ceramics with clay by ourselves. I made a square plate with a flower on it! It's nice, I like my masterpiece hahahah ~~~

  The most amazing part of the day is when we went to the student resturant to have dinner. We found the huge crepes and I got a crepe with a lot of mango and ice cream, it is only 68 NT$!!! That's super huge and super cheap and super delicious!!!!

 Then, during the caliigrapy class, I learned to write mytraditional Chinese name with a brush!! Show you the pic later~~~

Day 5. Yangming Mountain+ hot spring museum+ 台大第一腿+ pool+ gossip time

Today is a big hot sunny day. What a "perfect" day for higking!!!! I get tan after a one-day-exposure under the sun, tired but happy.

Yangming mountain is the highest and most beautiful mountain in Taiwan. We went to Mt. Qixing today. It is the highest peak of Yangmingshan, which elevation is over 1000km. It took us 3 hours to get to the top of Mount Qixing. We walk along the trails to go up. The burning sun is right above us.
Everytime when we encountered special plants or insects, we stoped. The professors explained carefully to us of the plants and insects. I felt a bit depressed when they talk the things I don't know. espacially the knowledg I am supposted to know cuz I learned before at school. I felt that I have so much things still need to learn about forestry.

This is what I learned today:-Yangming mountain is affected by Northe-east Monsoom in winter, so it is very cold in winter.
- the tree in Yangming mountain are broadleaf-trees but the leafs are not as these from temperate area.(we are in sub-tropic and close to the tropic, this is because the water can circulate better inside the leaf.
- it is a volcanic mountain.
- the acid gas near the crater is yeallow and prohibit the growing of bamboo cuz is to acid.
- the root of 栲树 is good for ....forget the name. --
-we saw Janpese Cedar! The were planted for over80 years. The can be used as pole so Janpanese planted a lot of them but doesn't grow very well on the mountain.

The wind on the top of the mountain is strong. I wasalmost blew away~~~

The hot spring museum is good but not as good as the top of the mountain.

Today is an extremly exhausting day because I did't get enough sleep these days. too excited so that stay up late to enjoy my life in Taiwan.

We head back early tonight and go play pool and table tennis. We also disucuss gossip. explore everyone's love story! And we have a talk show now named "Patient Family"for people who what to share their love stories with us! Hahah, tha't soooomuch fun!!!

Day 4, Ocean museum+ sea shore+ bleeding leg+biking tour+night market

Today is no doubt another huge happy day!

Althouth I don't like sea animals, although I was hurt on my leg, although I spend lots of money in the night market, although I ate a lot at night and may gain weight tomorrow!!Although...... Today is still a huge happy day!!!!

Hulda!! If you see this journal, I want to tell you how much I love you~~~Hahahah~~~you are so cute and powerfullllllll~~~~ I didn't expect that your small body is so powerful to bike me around the market!!!!!!! You don't know how much fun I had when I sat on the back of your bike and chatting with you and 圣谕, as well as saw the beautiful view of Taipei~~ Wooooaaaaaa~~I only saw such kind of vivid "Taiwan style"life  in movies~~ That's sooooofeels like 《海角七号》 （actually I don't rememmber if  海角七号 has such kind of scendary. but whatever, We are in Taipei!!!! It's already romantic!!!!!!~~~

Well, I hope there is no problem if I write my journal in this way~~~~~

Day 3. harvesting+long lectures+ forg watching

Well, it is already the 4th day, again, I didn't finish my journal yesterday, so, a lot of work need to be done today....

Oh....no I don't remember what we did yesterday. I mean everyday is so amazing. it is hard to remember everthing after having another good day!
 I always spend all of my time and energy to enjoy my wonderful life in Taiwan, I really don't want to go back dorm unless I am too tied to move. So everytime when I sit down in front my laptop, get start to  write the journal, my head is empty and I want to do nothing but sleep.

The work in the farm yesterday was wonderful. Although it was a big sunny day, I was alreaday sweating before getting to work, everyone was happy and excited.(I am always excited here in Taiwan)
The hat is cute~~ We can't help to taking photos of ourselves before the harvesting.
here is one~Oooops, the computer doesn't work. maybe post it later.

The machine we used to collect rice is hard to control. The teacher did it easily but it was not that easy to turn the wheel when you do it yourself.

The lectures are kinda of boring(Haha, am I too honest by saying that...well....
I mean I think study in the field is so much better than stay in classroom.
We are in Taiwan, I just want to go outside, eventhough it is hot out of the building.

Yinjie and I went to have "大肠包小肠" before the frog watching.
大肠包小肠 always show up in my dream when I decided to go to Taiwan. so we encounetered the small booth on the street selling “大肠包小肠” , you can imagine how excited i was..it's like,,,dreams come true!!!Hahaha~~~

The night with frogs snake and lizard was greeaeaeaeaeaet!!! It reminded my one monthe ago when I in Wuyishang,Fujian Provience, China. We went herping evernight with an herpoligists. That's when I became fond of walking in the dark to find those wonderful animals at night!

Well, cherish what you are having now. I know one month later, I would miss this group of people and all the things we done in Twaiwan~~~
